Just like every other year, the 2010 year in technology began at the giant annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. But unlike every other year, the show floor wasn’t flooded with just the biggest, flatest, and brightest HDTVs, instead 3D sets are everywhere you look. Later in the year we would see the content follow with every major sport dabbling in the third dimension: football, baseball, golf, hockey, and Nascar were among those to broadcast events in 3D but the World Cup Soccer tournament in South Africa became the first big-time sporting event to broadcast multiple games all over the world in 3D. We would also eventually have a few networks and on demand channels for all 3D 24 hours a day.
