ETCentric

ETCentric is a collaborative online destination that provides technology news, trends and opinions as they relate to entertainment media.
Media professionals are faced with a glut of information as part of their daily routines, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to manage the time and effort required to weed through what is relevant to our world and what is not.
ETCentric disseminates this array of information and delivers what is relevant in a single online resource. As a natural extension of the ETC, it is designed as a virtual “clubhouse” where industry insiders can openly discuss new products, creative inspiration, evolving trends, and innovation in media technology.
ETC has long served as a “neutral” location where executives from member companies could gather – without competition or political concerns – to openly share innovative ideas and address industry-wide concerns. Today we can raise the tide of information sharing for all member companies with Web 2.0 and social media tools.
ETCentric serves as a professional social network to inform, exchange ideas and spark discussion on a wide range of topics – from theater to film to gaming to interactive television and the Internet. Users are invited to access the site as a vital news source or become an integral part of the community by submitting content and participating in ongoing discussions.
Customized content relevance is based on user profiles that result in multiple site “views” (your content “view” will cater the news and commentary that appears on your version of the site based on your profession and user profile). However, the multiple views will be accessible by all users. Therefore, you can customize your “view” based on your current position in Project Distribution, for example, but with the click of a button can check out what the Post Production professionals are reading about in their “view.” Additionally, story “heat” will be measured by reader response, another means of weighing relevance.
The ETCentric audience consists of creative executives, technologists, decision makers, managers and analysts – so the editorial voice of our publication is characterized by multiple perspectives. We believe the best ideas emerge from varied points of view and encourage all to make the most of the experience by commenting on stories – or other readers’ comments – to foster dialogue and become part of our collective voice.
Entertainment media is a rapidly evolving, dynamic industry that requires innovative thinking to help it flourish. AtETCentric, we provide you with the tools to make that happen.
