Indian to unleash 3D Dracula in Hollywood [two 3D Dracula films]

[Times of India]

Malayalam director Rupesh Paul will be bringing the Transylvanian undead to the silver screens in December with the horror flick Saint Dracula, which has finished filming in the picturesque locations of England.

“Unlike Bram Stroker’s Dracula, which sends a chill through the spine, Saint Dracula portrays a different dimension of the vampire, who holds a hero figure in the nation of Romania and is christened as a saint in the Orthodox congregation of the nation,” says Sohan Roy, the executive producer and project designer of the movie.  …

British actor Mitch Powell will play the vampire, with Patricia Duarte, Daniel Shayler, Suzanne Roche, Anna Burkholder and Lawrence Larkin comprising the cast.

The movie, touted as the first ever Indian production to be exclusively shot abroad with foreign actors, is being produced by Biz TV Network, which had also produced the upcoming 3D Hollywood film Dam 999.

However, the second 3D Dracula movie to come out in July 2012 will have its fangs sinking deep into the horror classic with Italian master-of-gore Dario Argento (Suspiria, Deep Red) helming it.

Thomas Kretschmann (The Pianist, King Kong), who was considered for the lead role in Valkyrie before Tom Cruise was cast, will play Dracula while Dutch actor Rutger Hauer (Hobo With A Shotgun) takes the crucifix this time as Van Helsing.
