What was old, now is new... 3D is to become the next big thing in Hollywood, again. DreamWorks Animation sees 3D as the future of cinema. Even though 3D is not a new concept, new computer technologies, digital cinimas, and low cost 3D glasses have increased the feasibility to provide 3D in the mainstream. Additionally with the hot button issue of piracy, 3D films shown on the silver screen "cannot be pirated", according to Jeffrey Katzenberg.
