Ericsson has been selected as the service provider for broadcasting 3D content for television channels across China. The selection has been confirmed by China Central Television (CCTV), which is the sate-owned television broadcaster of the country.
A total of 113 billion homes are expected to receive the content for which Ericsson is applying an advances compression technique. The television market in China is said to be the largest world over. …
The year 2012 would also see Ericsson television launching its services in the Indian market as well. There would be quite a few channels that the company would be introducing in India this year. …

As state broadcaster, it is essential for CCTV to meet the highest standards in terms of picture quality and system reliability, and we are pleased to extend the long-established relationship we have with CCTV in order to meet these needs for 3D,” said Mats H Olsson, president of Ericsson China & North East Asia.
