AI & The Law

June 27, 2024

AI regulation is rapidly evolving, and the ETC brings back leading AI attorney Angela Dunning to provide an expert update on the legal, ethical, and copyright issues shaping the industry.

As AI applications get more sophisticated and ubiquitous, courts and regulators are scrambling to create legal and ethical frameworks around them. On March 13, 2024, the European Parliament formally adopted the EU AI Act with a large majority of the votes. In the US, 40 states have introduced AI bills, and 6 enacted legislation. Last October, President Biden issued an Executive Order on safe, secure an trustworthy AI.

To check in on regulations and make sense of it all, the ETC is bringing back one of the country’s top legal minds on the issue, Angela Dunning. Angela is a partner with Clearly Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in Palo Alto, where she specializes and trademark, copyrights and other complex litigation for some of the world’s top AI companies. She has years of experience litigating AI copyright cases on behalf of clients such as Google and Midjourney.
