Crowd Drawn to 55-inch Touch Screen HDTV

China’s Skyworth is showing off a 55-inch 1080p HDTV with a touch screen surface you can draw on using a special soft-tipped stylus. Designed for educators, the LCD device is packaged with a computer that enables you to save lessons.

A representative from Skyworth said the unit, model 55L09FM, is not yet available in the US, where it would cost about $5,000 at today’s conversion rates, but the company will be continuing to evaluate the market. Watching the delighted passers-by who took to “playing” with the item, one couldn’t help but wonder about the many ways in which people might want to interact with TVs.
