RE: 3D Force meeting – Sunday, October 24th, 3pm-6pm, in Burbank

DATE: Tuesday, November 9, 2010

Fellow 3Dreamers:

November is a month for 3D Thanksgiving. Since October had five Sundays, the first 3D Video Task Force of November is this weekend.

The AFI International Film Festival features Sony Technology Learning Center’s 3D Bootcamp and Werner Herzog’s 3D documentary, CAVE OF FORGOTTEN DREAMS. Final Cut Pro Users Group celebrates its 10th anniversary. Stereo Club of Southern California holds a monthly Movie Night, in addition to its regular meeting. South Bay Filmmakers think Super 8. Events new to the Force Calendar include NewFilmmakers L.A.’s monthly movie nights and Greater Los Angeles Writers Society’s bi-weekly screenwriters workshop.

See this week’s Events Calendar, below, for details.

Also included is November’s Celebri3D Birthdays, with belated Birthday wishes to the Force’s Paul Taylor (11/02) and Brian Gardner (11/07).

**** 3D Video Task Force Meeting, November 14th ****

A collective of industry professionals and longtime hobbyists who share expertise and resources to encourage and develop independent video projects, the 3D Video Task Force meets the second- and fourth-Sundays of the month, in the Burbank/Glendale area. Our next Force meeting will be:

Sunday, November 14th, 3pm-6pm

Video Symphony, 266 E. Magnolia Blvd (at San Fernando Road) in Burbank

Adjacent to the Town Center and AMC Theatres. Plentiful free parking (at 239 E. Palm Street and in adjacent structures), but anticipate Sunday crowds at the local shops and theatres. There are a dozen IMAX or Real D 3D screens within immediate walking distance.

For entry assistance, the direct-line to Video Symphony’s on-duty Tech person is 818-749-5942.

Bring your scripts, project proposals, progress reports and queries for our 3D Think Tank. All 3D Force meetings are free and open to the public.

Agenda items include Ethan Schur’s 3D book-in-progress, progress reports on current & upcoming 3D projects, 3D Force web-links, Force projects-in-progress check-list, upcoming industry panels & events, 3D home theatre technology and new 3D channels from ESPN, DirecTV, Discovery, HBO & BSkyB.

Please submit Agenda item requests, in person or by email, anytime before the regularly-scheduled meeting. Late requests accepted as time permits.

Video Symphony specializes in vocational training for the post-production industry. More information available at www.videosymphony.com.

Currently playing in 3D at AMC Burbank: MEGAMIND (Imax & Digital 3D); SAW 3D (Digital 3D); JACKASS 3D (Digital 3D). Discount admissions before noon (WARNING: 3D surcharge).
