Flatley’s ‘Lord of the Dance’ In 3D

Lord of the Dance

Michael Flatley’s ‘Lord of the Dance’ show will step-dance its way onto the bigscreen next year, with creator and original star Michael appearing in a 3D movie version set for release on St. Patrick’s Day.

3D production company, Nineteen Fifteen are producing the film in association with ITN Productions. Vicki Betihavas (Jack Dee Live at the Apollo) and Kit Hawkins (Live 8) are producing with executive producer, Stephen Carsey (Robot Wars). The film was edited by Tom Palliser (Strangers).

Directed by Marcus Viner (David Bowie: A Reality Tour), ‘Lord of the Dance in 3D’ will be released by Supervision Media in selected UK and Irish cinemas. The feature incorporates new sets, lights, costumes and effects into the show, which premiered in Dublin in 1996. The feature shot in both London and Dublin last month.

The stage version of the show has grossed more than $1 billion in its various stints around the world and has been seen by some 60 million people.
