Sony is showing a prototype of a professional shoulder-mount 3D camera, which was first unveiled at last year’s IBC. It has two, half-inch CMOS sensors and is designed for professional use (with the ability to shoot up to 240 fps). It was recently reported that the camera would feature four SxS memory slots, left and right channel HD-SDI outs, and a dial for adjusting the point of convergence.
Sony is hopeful that it will have demonstration pictures made with the developing camera available at NAB. The target is to ship by year’s end.
ESPN3D, which goes 24/7 on February 14, is testing the camera.
