RealD and Samsung Electronics have revealed that RealD’s proprietary stereoscopic RealD Format will be integrated into Samsung’s line-up of 3DTVs. RealD previously announced similar deals with Sony and JVC.
Samsung 3D technologies will be highlighted this week at CES. RealD and Samsung also plan to work jointly on active eyewear technology and new passive display technology to promote the adoption of 3DTV.
Samsung’s press conference is slated for January 6th and its exhibition is in the LVCC Central Hall.
According to RealD, its format is an enhanced version of a side-by-side 3D format that uses a set of filters and other technology that multiplexes a left eye and right eye 3D image stream into a single channel for delivery of HD 3D content using today’s HD infrastructure to any 3D-enabled display type.
