More Premier League games live in 3D
6th August 2010
This season is Sky Sports’ biggest ever – and you can see it in another dimension thanks to Sky 3D.
As well as 115 Premier League games live in High-Definition, you will be able to see the best players in the world in 3D every week.
Starting with this Sunday’s tradtional curtain-raiser, the Community Shield clash between Chelsea and Manchester United, we can confirm our first seven 3D games of the new season.
They include the first Super Sunday of the season, the clash between Liverpool and Arsenal at Anfield on August 15, Manchester United against Liverpool on September 19 and the meeting of the Premier League moneybags, Manchester City and Chelsea on September 25.
First 3D fixtures of the season
Last season’s Premier League clash between Arsenal and Manchester United was filmed in 3D and broadcast over the Sky platform to selected pubs around the UK and Ireland, with customers becoming the first audiences anywhere in the world to experience live Premier League in 3D.
Sky 3D is now available in more than 1,500 pubs and clubs across the UK and Ireland and over one million sports fans have already marvelled at a range of sports broadcast live in 3D since the channel’s launch. Sports covered to date include football, cricket, rugby union, rugby league and darts.
And in October we will be showing selected holes at the 2010 Ryder Cup to coincide with the residential launch of our Sky 3D channel.
It will mean that any Sky+HD customer with a 3D Ready TV will be able to enjoy the spectacle of live sport in 3D in the comfort of their living room.
Viewers who have yet to buy a 3D TV can still enjoy the action by visiting www.sky.com/3dpubs to find their nearest Sky 3D pub.
