Avatar Blu-ray 3D Coming 12/01/10 with Panasonic 3D TV Purchase

Panasonic and Fox have teamed up for an exciting promotion which begins on December 1, 2010. Consumers who pull the trigger on one of Panasonic’s excellent 3D plasma displays will be eligible to receive a bonus Ultimate 3Dpackage which includes two pairs of Panasonic’s active shutter 3D glasses (which retail for $150 each), and a copy of Avatar 3D on Blu-ray 3D. But Panasonic is not leaving their existing customers out in the cold as customers who purchased a Panasonic 3D TV set prior to December 1, can send in their sales receipt and also receive a free copy of Avatar 3D. The extra two pairs of glasses are not included under that scenario.

That of course opens the Pandora’s box (man that was easy!) in regard to consumers who have purchased 3D sets from every other manufacturer and would obviously want to own the best 3D film ever made (not to mention the highest grossing film in motion picture history). Whatever Panasonic shelled out for the exclusivity will probably prove to be well worth it. Bold move Panasonic. Bold indeed. Big Picture Big Sound has been all over the 3D story from day one and check out some of our more recent coverage down below.

This promotional flyer was spotted at Best Buy and apparently contains all of the juicy details. Kudos to our friends over at Engadget for the tip.
