Canal+ unveils 3D plans

French premium broadcaster Canal+ has announced details of its upcoming regular 3D programmes. Rather than a full-time channel, Canal+ plans to broadcast a live event and a movie in 3D every month.

This coming Saturday, February 12, Canal+ will broadcast the Premier League match between Manchester United and Manchester City live in 3D. The match is being produced by BSkyB and will also be shown live on Sky 3D.

In March, Canal+ 3D will broadcast Alice in Wonderland and the French Ligue 1 match between Olympique Marseille and PSG.

In April, the channel will broadcast the Disney picture Volt as well as the match Real Madrid – FC Barcelona on April 17th.

In May another 3D movie will be shown (title to be announced) as well as the match between Manchester United and Chelsea.

The 3D version is available to all Canal+ subscribers at no additional cost.
