At their press briefing at CES, Cisco brought their Eos software platform “out of the garage.”
Eos is designed for content owners who want to monetize their assets to online communities in a cost-efficient and easy to manage integrated platform. Eos is comprised of four major components: Content Management, Administration, Analytics and Community.
Warner Music is the first content company to use Eos for their lauraizibor.com and seanpaul.com artist sites.
Separately, Cisco also debuted the Linksys Media Hub, which looks and sounds like a next generation HP MediaSmart server. Media Hub sits on your home network and automatically locates and centralizes all your movies, music and photos. Once it does, you can play them for your enjoyment at home or anywhere from the Net via a web browser. It’s available now for $299 which includes 500GB of storage.

Finally, in a nod to help consumers, Cisco introduced their Cisco Device Connection Program which is an open, free licensing program for manufacturers to use the Home Network Administration Protocol (HNAP) that enables easy setup and configuration of any network product.
