Disaster Report (Game) Hits PS3 with Move and 3D Support

The game promises Move and 3D support. —

The name Zettai Zetsumei Toshi may not sound familiar, but you’ve probably heard of this Irem-developed series under the localized names of its first two PS2 installments, respectively Disaster Report and Raw Danger. Someone’s going to have to think of another name, as a new entry in the series was just announced in Japan.

This week’s Famitsu has a first report on Zettai Zetsumei Toshi 4, a new PlayStation 3 entry in the series. There’s a 4 in the name because this is actually the fourth game in the series. The third was released on PSP and stayed exclusive to Japan.

ZZT4 keeps the general concept of its predecessors in tact. You find yourself a survivor of a major disaster, in this case an earthquake that has struck right in the middle of summer. You’ll have to use your best survival skills to escape town, teaming up with fellow survivors along the way.

For part 4, the game adds a couple of new major features. You can now customize your character with over 100 clothing articles. You can also explore the insides of buildings, something that should be helpful as you’re going to have to find a bathroom now and then. Your character now has a parameter for cleanliness, and if you don’t relieve yourself periodically, your stress will rise.

Perhaps the biggest feature of all is not directly touched upon in Famitsu. The game promises Move and 3D support. We’re not sure how these features will be used at present, but the thought of exploring a true 3D adventure environment gets us excited.

Japan gets Zettai Zetsumei Toshi 4 this Winter. Although the third game did not come our way, the choice of PS3 as platform for the new entry gives us hope for an international release.
