IWow 3D Audio Announced by SRS Labs

(Philip Lelyveld comment: interesting enhance 3D AUDIO, not video.)

The iWow 3D, a sound augmentation hardware designed for portable devices of Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL), was announced by SRS Labs (NASDAQ:SRSL) during the week. The iWow 3D dongle, which was intended to complement the free iWow app for the iOS, is linked to the iPad, iPhone and iPod before a pair of headphones or the audio cables are linked into its extended line-out port of the iWow 3D.

According to SRS the audio cues of the original sound files are retrieved and restored by the iWow 3D allowing it to create an engrossing 3D audio effect aside from a intense bass which is perfect for games, videos as well as music.

The product has two versions, the iWow 3D standalone unit which costs $70 and the combo unit of the iWow 3D which has an in-ear headphone set and four different colored faceplates which can be used to switch the original black faceplate. The combo unit of the iWow 3D is priced at $100.
