UAE gamers are currently battling it out in the UAE’s first-ever 3D gaming championship, powered by LG Electronics, at the Living Rooms video games café in Dubai Festival City.
Over the next six months competitors will go head to head testing their skills to the max using LG’s groundbreaking CINEMA 3D SMART TV technology. Contestants will be whittled down through a series of knock-out stages, leaving the UAE’s top group of gamers competing in the final round on 6 January 2012. Four will be crowned UAE 3D gaming champions. …
… One such gamer dreaming of the title is Ali Zghaibi, a 15-year old high school student from Jordan, who won the opening round with Call of Duty.
Zghaibi said: “I’ve been playing Call of Duty nearly every day so I think I can win, although it’s completely different in 3D, which I was blown away by. When you put on the glasses you feel like you’re in the game, especially with all the bullets coming toward you.” …
