The Louvre museum in Paris, France, will soon use Nintendo 3DS consoles as digital guides around its museum, replacing the traditional audio-guides available to visitors.

As reported by international news website AFP, Nintendo will supply the museum with 5,000 3DS consoles in March, and visitors will be able to locate themselves in the Louvre via the stereoscopic 3D screen, then listen to recorded commentaries depending on whereabouts they currently are in the museum.

Agnes Alfandari, the museum’s head of multimedia, noted, “We are the first museum in the world to do this.”
