During Tuesday’s CES Unveiled, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America previewed a prototype of a 92-inch model of its DLP 3D Home Cinema TV, which is also Internet-enabled. This model joins a range of Mitsubishi 3D-ready TVs that range from 60-82 inches, and is expected to ship later in the year. Pricing was not available.
The 92-inch 3D Home Cinema TV uses active glasses and features a slightly reflective screen for improved contrast and viewing angles, says Frank DeMartin, vice president, marketing at Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America. Mitsubishi is one of a number of consumer electronics manufacturers that will support the new VUDU 3D service, which will make 3D movies available for streaming via the VUDU VOD platform.
At CES, Mitsubishi also plans to show its first 1080p full HD 3D home theater front projection system.
