Playboy eyes connected TV

[by Chris Dziadul. BroadbandTVNews]

Playboy TV expects to sign a contract with a connected TV platform within the next month, according to Jeremy Yates, MD, Playboy TV Europe.

This will allow it to distribute its 3D content, which currently consists of four titeles, with two more in production.

Yates added that Playboy is making a slower transition to 3D than Dorcel, which has already produced around 100 adult 3D titles, “as we want to see how the technology evolves”.

It is being undertaken gradually and on a title-by-title basis. He also said the adult market is believed to be worth around $4.9 billion (€ 3.5 billion).
