In Demand crew ‘Stuck’ Atlantis landing in 3D TV
3D TV cameras that were rolling on behalf of Comcast captured the last landing of space shuttle Atlantis on Thursday morning. A special program had been scheduled by Comcast on the NASA orbiting vehicle’s final mission which will be aired on the 5th of August.
STS 135 Atlantis made its final landing at 5:57 AM and Executive producer Adam Friedman and his crew from Vertical Ascent Productions were present at the site. Multichannel News was informed this by In Demand by stating “Now Vertical Ascent will rush back across to their Los Angeles offices and put together the only 3D show to cover this epic event.”
At a distance of just 500 feet Vertical Assent, a video distributor which is owned by MSO captured the Atlantis launch on July 8 in 3D.

Footage from space would also be available to viewers as the camera, Panasonic 3D A-1 , is also being carried aboard the space shuttle to shoot special footage in space.

The fiery descent of Atlantis… in 3D!
Wow! The ISS astronauts took several pictures of the Orbiter as it descended. Nathanial took two of them from NASA’s spaceflight gallery and combined them to make this anaglyph. If you click between the two original shots (here and here) you can see they were taken a few seconds apart; the motion of the stars, the Earth, and the plasma plume change a little bit (click between them rapidly and you’ll actually get a feel of the motion. Weird).
