Pubs, sports bars and clubs with 3D TV can tune in to the needs of sports fans by subscribing to a new website.
www.3DTVPubfinder.com has been launched to coincide with the kick-off of the 2010/11 football season and will provide a national listing of venues exclusively showing sporting events in 3D.
Locations will be able to list details of their facilities and opening hours free-of-charge and there will also be further promotional opportunities to sponsor areas of the website, highlight special offers or advertise.
The websites creators aim to develop an online community where those interested in sports, new technology and socialising can come together to source information and share their thoughts and experiences about venues showing sporting events. The site is partnering with www.wheresthematch.com to bring users a listing of all the latest sporting fixtures, whether thats football, cricket, rugby or golf.
www.3DTVPubfinder.com is in its infancy, but were convinced that as soon as the sporting season starts in earnest and the Premiership kicks-off, the site will come into its own and prove very useful to users and pubs alike, said one of the websites owners John Beharrell. We know there is a real sense of community amongst sports fans who watch the game in the pub and we want to foster this on the new site as well as giving hostelries and venue owners a fantastic opportunity to further promote themselves amongst sophisticated sports fans.
Interest in 3D TV has rocketed this year more than 1,500 locations are already screening 3D TV and the number of search engine enquiries about the technology has tripled. This trend is expected to continue ahead of Sky launching Europes first 3D channel on 1st October, which will be available to its existing Sky +HD subscribers without any set-top box upgrade.
Rather than just watching sports, 3D technology is enabling the viewer to be more involved in the action and creating the experience of actually being there, added Beharrell. As an avid football fan myself, the best place to sample this technology is to enjoy 3D events at the pub and for many this also presents an ideal opportunity to see what it is like before purchasing for the home.
3D TV is clearly the next big thing and so 3D TV Pub Finder aims to evolve along with the technology to ensure the relevance of our website content keeps up with the needs of its users.
