UK Box office profits were up last year, despite a fall in the number of people going to watch films. It is thought that the increase in revenue is down to the number of 3D films that were available to see and the premium prices of these tickets.
Box office profits rose to £988 million in 2010, which is a rise of 5% on 2009. The figures have been produced in a report that has been published by the British Film Institute.
Profits are up despite actual attendance figures dropping by around 2% on the previous year’s attendance figures. …
