Sharp Introduces New Quad Pixel Technology

Sharp was showing off its new quad pixel technology that adds a yellow subpixel to the standard RGB screen.  This means that the screen can display over 1 trillion colors as opposed to the standard 4-5 billion colors of traditional LCDs.  The difference was a noticeable improvement to color saturation, especially in the greens and yellow.  Screens incorporating this technology will be available in the spring.
