New Internet Site Opens to Deliver 3D Content Online

3DeeCentral, a new online store for stereo 3D content, will be launched by Toronto-based Spatial View this fall, providing 3D videos and images that can be seen on 3D enabled PCs and portable media devices – with or without glasses.

The content will be protected by encryption and adapted for licensed display devices.

SpatialView manufactures its own accessory for glasess-free 3D viewing, the 3DeeSlide, which enables autostereoscopic display of 3D content on mobile devices like the iPod and iTouch, as well as developing software players for laptop or desktop PCs for either stereoscopic glasses enabled or autostereoscopic 3D display.

3DeeCentral will consist of a growing library of free and paid stereo 3D content, as well as new apps for 3D enabled PCs and portable devices later this year, the company has announced. The site will support auto-stereoscopic technologies as well as active and passive glasses-based stereo 3D solutions, across a wide range of digital media platforms.

Spatial View has an in-house content partner development team that is recruiting 3D content partners worldwide, and securing distribution rights for 3D enabled PCs and mobile devices.

Companies like Telcast, Passmore Labs, Vidimensio, Lo Coloco Films and Big I Entertainment have already signed up to make stereo 3D content.

“The recent popularity of 3D movies has created demand for stereo 3D on a variety of personal devices including 3D enabled PCs and mobile devices,” said Al Lopez, COO at Spatial View. “Whether it is to view 3D movie trailers, 3D photos and images, or other stereo 3D videos, Spatial View is making it possible.”

“We will periodically add 3D content to 3DeeCentral including support for additional 3D enabled mobile and PC devices,” Lopez added. “3DeeCentral is well positioned to become the recognized leader for stereo 3D content on the Internet and the “go-to” destination for consumers looking for compelling 3D content.”

Spatial View will manage the technical conversion process itself, making sure content can be watched properly across all display devices. So 3D content creators and providers will not have to develop and maintain versions for different devices, nor will they have to and establish relationships with a variety of companies in order to make their content available.

Established in 2004, Spatial View is headquartered in Toronto with offices in San Francisco, Dresden and Brussels.
