Believe It or Not, You Might Already Own a Mitsubishi 3D-Capable TV

Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America launches national promotion to inform more than 500,000 consumers that they may already own a Mitsubishi 3D-capable TV

The hot new rage in consumer electronics is 3D TV, and, ironically, more than a half million consumers might not know that their TVs are 3D-capable1. That’s because Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America has been selling 3D-capable TVs since 2007, well before games, movies, and sports programming were available in 3D and consumers became intrigued by this new large screen, immersive home entertainment revolution.

To find these lucky owners, MDEA has launched a social media campaign to educate and notify the more than a half million consumers who could be enjoying a fully immersive 3D experience with the simple addition of a Mitsubishi 3D Starter Pack and 3D Source device. Any U.S. resident 18 years of age or older can enter the promotion by visiting and becoming a Facebook® fan of Mitsubishi TV. All entrants are eligible to win the grand prize- a stunning Mitsubishi 75-inch LaserVue® 3D-capable TV, which Engadget, the acclaimed technology blog, recently called, “…the best looking consumer-level set we’ve ever laid eyes on.”* Additionally, anyone who enters can win the second prize, a 60-inch Mitsubishi 3D DLP® Home Cinema TV. The contest will also award one Mitsubishi 3D Starter Pack, a $449 value, each week for eight weeks.

“3D TV is the biggest thing to hit the consumer electronics industry in recent memory,” says Max Wasinger, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing at Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America. “Ironically, many current Mitsubishi TV owners may have forgotten or never realized that the TVs they purchased within the past three years are 3D-capable. This social media campaign is designed to educate and inform these consumers that they can start enjoying an immersive 3D experience right in their homes with their current Mitsubishi TVs. That’s an exciting new capability that extends the value of their purchase of a legacy Mitsubishi 3D-capable TV.”

There are Mitsubishi 3D-capable TV models from 2007-2010 that are compatible with the 3D Starter Pack. To find out if your Mitsubishi TV is one of these 3D-capable models, visit mitsubishi-tv.com.
