Cue creepy piano – Halloween 3D release date and information

[by Danny Cox, New Orleans Movie Examiner]

There are those times when you’re not even sure what to think anymore in the world of the horror genre, but then again, why should you?

The Weinstein Company announced the release dates of numerous films coming out over the next year or so and one of those happens to be Halloween 3D. Yes, there is going to be a third (11th?) one and it wilol hit theatres on October 26, 2012.

All in all, there were eight Halloween films before Rob Zombie re-imagined the film back in 2007. It was then followed up with a sequel and now is about to be hit with another sequel. Zombie has nothing to do with this one though.

Writer Todd Farmer and director Patrick Lussier (My Bloody Valentine 3D) said they will begin working on Halloween 3D once they get finished with their re-imagining of Hellraiser. Seriously? Is there not a single original idea in these guys’ heads anymore?

“I think Halloween III will happen once we’re done with Hellraiser,” says Farmer. “I know we’ve spoken to Bob (Weinstein) and he’s still very much on board to make that movie happen, and I know we are, too, but I think it’s going to be a long ways off before we start working on Halloween III”.
