Dell’s Alienware line is well-known for its focus on gaming, and the latest monitor to join the series is going to add a new dimension to the experience. Meet the Alienware OptX AW2310, the company’s first 3D-capable gaming panel.
The 23-inch screen sports full-HD resolution and uses Nvidia 3D Vision technology. To enable the active shutter stereoscopic feature, you’ll need to hook up a system with a compatible Nvidia graphics card. Unfortunately, the required eyewear is not bundled with the S$759 (US$584.48) monitor. Strangely enough, Dell does not offer the active shutter glasses as an addon option and you’ll have to purchase the 3D Vision Kit from other retailers for roughly S$439 (US$338.06).
We like the fact that the input ports are HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection)-compatible, which allows the monitor to be used with copy-protected content. Another nice addition is the Premium Panel Guarantee where Dell promises to replace the unit free if even a single bright pixel was found on the screen. The Alienware OptX AW2310 is now available at Dell online stores.
