The 3D Center of Art & Photographyis hosting a double feature of thriller films during October.
The first, called “Shine,” was created by Portland filmmaker Jesse Blanchard and is a combination of comedy, horror, puppetry and a barbershop quartet. The 3-D film, which is about 3 minutes long, won Best of Fest at the Los Angeles 3D Film Festival in September.
Blanchard has been making independent films for 10 years, and his work has been screened at the Cannes film festival.
The second film was also written by Blanchard and is called “Space Bugs.” The more than 5-minute film was shot entirely in Portland and is about an attack on a small town by bugs from space.
The films will start showing Thursday, Oct. 6 at the center, 1928 N.W. Lovejoy St.
