Radical Prostatectomy by Robot Brings New Hope for Prostate Cancer Patients

Robotic surgery may be the answer to prostate treatment in the future as per the delegates at the Australasian Prostate Cancer Conference in Melbourne. Prostate cancer has not had a good prognosis when it came to recovery, but with robotic surgery the cancer may be cured in the future.

At the conference in Melbourne Urology Specialist Dr Robin Smart said that the Da Vinci robots were the answer to operating with fine accuracy on patients with prostate cancer. A 3D video presentation of a radical prostatectomy by robot captured the interest of the researchers in the presentation.
