Tech provider to bow service at CES
Technology provider Sensio is looking to pump up the nascent 3D TV market by offering a slate of streaming video-on-demand titles via RoxioNow.
The streaming service, to be officially launched later this week at CES, will offer the titles in proprietary Sensio Hi-Fi 3D format. Internet-connected devices incorporating the format’s decoder, including connected TVs, Blu-ray players and PCs, will be able to watch the titles.
The company has not announced any titles on the service but has promised it will include documentaries, independent films, and blockbusters.
Sensio claims to be able to provide “virtually lossless” 3D images.
Sensio was the technology provider for 3D telecasts of last year’s World Cup to cinemas worldwide.
