… Having impressed us on the physicals, now let us turn on the HTC EVO 3D to see if it really has a 3D display. What impresses us is that its 3D screen does not require you to wear any special 3D glasses. Naturally, this is not the kind of ‘pop-out’ 3D that you would see in theatres wearing 3D glasses. It is literally trying to show you 3D effects on a 2D screen. While this sounds cool, the snag is that you have to view the phone at a very fixed angle to be able to see the 3D properly without any blurring. This is fine if you’re watching short clips, but anything longer like a movie would require you to prop it up at the right angle. Also, watching the 3D outdoors is futile as you won’t be able to see much in bright daylight. Fortunately, there is a toggle switch for you to turn these 3D effects on and off, should you wish to revert back to the standard 2D display. …
